Yet another reason why you should never move to Topeka.
Yet another reason why no one should ever move to Topeka (And why our population keeps shrinking) I got TWO parking tickets downtown YEARS AND YEARS ago, I should have never gotten them. I had a “Handicapped” plaquard hanging from my rearview mirror. I had that so I can take my father places (So that might tell you how long ago this was)
Theres a law in Topeka that says that if you are handicapped, you dont have to pay the meters downtown. Long story short: Blind idiot fucktard parking nazi gives me a ticket even though the plaquard was hanging right there in plain site. (My father was still a bit mobile at the time, but was in his 80s and had parkinsons. He told me not to pay the ticket and to take it up with the parking police, which I did.
A week or so later, the SAME thing happened, again in front of Wolfs, which my Dad insisted on supporting even though everything there was 3 times as expensive as anything on Wanamaker. And I took the tickets to the parking police office and complained loudly about it and showed them the handicapped hanger and my little card stating I had every right to use the handicapped facilities.
I explained what had happened, and that their parking cop is a fucking blind moron, and told them I didnt want to pay these tickets that I never should have gotten in the first place. The lady behind the counter looked it up on her computer, took the tickets from me, told me that she had “Deleted them”, and said “Have a nice day”.
OK, so it was over and done with right?
WRONG! A few YEARS later i started getting letters from a local scumbag parasite collections lawyer named Kent Hollins. And he wanted $300 dollars for these tickets. I told him to go fuck himself. And that it had been taken care of long ago. Then I start getting summons to kangaroo court at Ag Hall at the Expo Centre where Kent Hollins the greedy collections whore of topeka is trying to “Sue” me over these tickets.
Only now he wants $400 bucks. I go in tell them that the tickets had been taken care of years earlier, I am sorry that he bought bad debts off of the city but thats his problem not mine. I talked to a judge that was there and that fat POS Judge was useless and pointless.
So this went on for a could of *YEARS*, and at one point they told me I owed them $800 for these two tickets. I have written back and forth to my city council person, who actually DID try to resolve this, and I thought she had, she and I went back and forth with the parking office and they kept saying that they had no record at all of the tickets…oh then, no record, no tickets! Right?
Wrong! Somehow the collection agency keeps saying that i do owe on these tickets that the parking dept says do not exist, or alternately that did exist but they have no information on. And then kent Hollins, whose mother must have raped him and beat him as a child, because nothing else explains how someone could be such an asshole, stopped harassing me about it for the next couple of years.
And Now, I am getting calls from a different collections company about these tickets. I think Kent hollins has either retired or died and now is in the deepest pits of hell, and now this new company bought his debts and accounts and is harassing me again over this shit. So here we go again. this is yet another of the thousands of reasons why people should never move to Topeka.
