Jury wants to hear re-back of testimony from two witnesses.
Jury deliberation went on until 4:20 Friday afternoon when court was called back and the judge had a brief discussion with the lawyers and then the jury. The jury wants to hear a read-back of testimony given by Hailly Sisco, Chandler’s daughters, and Anne Carrender (sp?) a “friend” of Dana’s from Arizona who testified last week.
The judge said they would have those transcripts prepared by Monday due to the late time in the afternoon, and then recessed the jury and court until 9:00 am on Monday.
Many people waiting around in the hallways of the courthouse all day had high hopes of the jury reaching a verdict by this afternoon.
This does give some insight on what the jury has been discussing and what points they might be confused or debating about. In this case it seems rather odd as the Ann Carrender person from Arizona gave rather damning testimony claiming that Dana said to her over the phone “They can’t prove I did it.”. That anyone would take Carrender seriously is strange as she did not “present well” on the stand and came off as an attention-seeking kook who’s stories didn’t really line up. Much like terry Anderson, the “Surprise witness” who showed up on Tuesday and gave conflicting testimony., none of which placed Dana in Topeka or at the crime scene, or showed that she did this crime.
One can only imagine what the jury wants to hear from Hailly Sisco, the daughter, who seems hostile, angry and agenda-driven in insisting that her Mother did this crime, and even spent considerable time recording phone calls with her mother (Perhaps at the pressuring or behest of the 48 Hours crime show?)
Court will reconvene at 9:00 am on Monday, stretching this trial into its 3rd week.
