Details are sketchy at this point, but at around 1:45 am Wednesday, a man who was standing near 29th and Villa West Drive was shot multiple times by a man in a white Fiat.

According to scanner traffic around 1:45 am police were called to 29th and Villa West Drive on a report of gunshots in the area. Upon arrival police found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his abdomen. Officers then called AMR, Ambulance and EMTs to the area as they performed CPR on the victim.

Reports were confusing but mentioned several cars involved in some sort of incident, one being a white Fiat that allegedly pulled up next to the man and fired the shots, and then drove several blocks away where he pulled in next to a Dentist’s Office and called the police himself. It is unknown if he was the original caller or not. He told dispatchers that he had a gun and it was holstered on his right hip.

A white Fiat was also mentioned as a “car of interest” in a shooting in that area last week in which a man died, and the police declared that the shooting was “In self-defense”. It remains to be seen if this car and driver/shooter is related to that incident.

The victim was being transported via AMR to an area hospital as of 2:15 AM. His condition is unknown at this time.
