In the Alley of the 2000 block of Clay, Topeka's 15th homicide took place. Police are suggesting it was self defense, no arrests have been made.

Early Morning Homicide claims mans life. Police Offer no real answers. Victim identified, Police suggest it may have been self defense.



TOPEKA, Kan. – At approximately 8:10 a.m., TPD Officers responded to the 2000 block of SW Clay Street in regards to a possible shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from a lifethreatening gunshot wound. The victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. The Homicide Unit is on scene, and the investigation is ongoing at this time.


Update

The deceased has been identified as Semaj O. Jackson, 26, of Topeka.
All involved parties have been identified. Upon completion, the investigation will be sent to the
Shawnee County District Attorney’s Office with a possible self-defense consideration. No further
updates are expected.
