TOPEKA, Kan. – On October 10, 2023, at 10:27 p.m., officers from the Topeka Police
Department responded to a shooting in the 2000 block of SE Pennsylvania.

Upon arrival, officers located an individual suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased by medical personnel at the scene. This incident is considered a homicide; further details will be released as the investigation allows.

The deceased’s identity will not be released until next of kin notifications have been made.
