Agg Robbery and Carjacking: 16 Year Old Arre4sted


Aggravated Robbery
TOPEKA, Kan. – On October 22, 2023 at 1:14 p.m., officers from the Topeka Police Department responded to the area of SE 19th St. and SE Michigan Ave. on a report of an aggravated robbery. It was reported a male with a Firearm threatened an individual, shot one round from the firearm into the air, and stole the victim’s vehicle.
At 1:20 p.m., Topeka Police Officers responding to the incident observed the stolen vehicle and attempted a traffic stop. The driver exited the vehicle and fled from officers on foot in the area of the 1900 block of SE Colorado Ave. Topeka Police Officers took the individual into custody in the area.
As a result of the investigation, a 16-year-old male from Topeka was transported to the Shawnee County Juvenile Detention Center for the following charges:
Aggravated Robbery
Aggravated Assault
Criminal Discharge of a Firearm
Criminal Carry of a Weapon
There were no injuries associated with this incident. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
