0 0

A comprehensive report that highlights some of the most prominent examples of misinformation, manufactured scandals, and misleading narratives targeting Democratic figures like Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, and others.

1. The Birther Lie: Undermining Obama’s Legitimacy

Fox News gave oxygen to the racist conspiracy theory that President Barack Obama was not born in the United States. Despite the release of both short and long-form birth certificates confirming his birth in Hawaii, the network repeatedly platformed figures like Donald Trump and Sheriff Joe Arpaio, who insisted Obama was foreign-born.

2. Jade Helm 15: Martial Law Paranoia

In 2015, Fox News amplified fears that a routine military exercise—Jade Helm 15—was a covert operation by the Obama administration to impose martial law in Texas. The claim, rooted in conspiracy theorist Alex Jones’s rhetoric, was baseless. No takeover occurred. The exercise was standard military training.

3. Benghazi: A Scandal Without Substance

Fox News turned the tragic 2012 attack in Benghazi into a political weapon against Hillary Clinton, airing near-daily segments accusing her of negligence and cover-up. Yet after eight congressional investigations—including Republican-led ones—no wrongdoing was found.

4. Hunter Biden’s Laptop: Smoke Without Fire

In the lead-up to the 2020 election, Fox News and the New York Post pushed a story about Hunter Biden’s laptop, alleging corruption involving Joe Biden. While the laptop exists, no verified evidence has implicated the president in criminal activity. Even Fox News initially passed on the story due to credibility concerns.

5. The “Apology Tour” Myth

Fox News and Republican figures like Mitt Romney accused Obama of going on a global “apology tour.” In reality, Obama’s speeches emphasized diplomacy and American leadership. No apologies were made.

6. Death Panels: Fearmongering in Healthcare

Sarah Palin and Fox News claimed the Affordable Care Act would create “death panels” to decide who lives or dies. This grotesque distortion of end-of-life counseling provisions was named PolitiFact’s “Lie of the Year” in 2009.

7. Biden’s Cognitive Fitness: A Manufactured Crisis

Fox News has relentlessly pushed the narrative that President Biden is mentally unfit for office, using selectively edited clips and out-of-context moments. No medical evidence supports these claims, and Biden has performed competently in public forums and debates.

* Fox News coverage of GOP probe * Fox Baltimore questions media silence

8. Obama the “Secret Muslim”

Fox News repeatedly aired segments suggesting Obama was secretly Muslim, including showing him in traditional garb and questioning his faith. Obama is a practicing Christian, and these claims were rooted in Islamophobia and xenophobia.

9. Climate Change Denial: Science vs. Ideology

Fox News has long promoted climate change denial, featuring guests who call it a “hoax” and ridiculing environmental policy. This flies in the face of overwhelming scientific consensus from NASA, NOAA, and the IPCC.

* Physicist tells Tucker climate change is fiction * Trump calls climate change a hoax

10. The “War on Christmas” Farce

Fox News has spent years claiming that liberals are trying to “cancel” Christmas, citing inclusive greetings like “Happy Holidays” as evidence of a cultural war. No such campaign exists. The narrative is pure grievance politics.

🎯 Conclusion: A Propaganda Machine in Plain Sight

These examples are not isolated incidents—they represent a deliberate strategy of distortion, fearmongering, and partisan manipulation. Fox News and its allies have built a media empire not on truth, but on outrage. The consequences are profound: eroded trust in institutions, radicalized political discourse, and a public increasingly divided by fiction.

The facts are clear. The question is: will accountability ever catch up to the machinery of misinformation?
