Northeast Kansas Weekend Concert Roundup – July 10-12, 2026

Welcome to this week’s Northeast Kansas Weekend Concert Roundup – another weekend, another absolute pile-up of shows across Topeka, Lawrence, and Kansas City. This one leans hard into KC – the recordBar/MiniBar/Lemonade Park cluster alone could eat your whole Friday night and half your gas tank – while Topeka keeps it small but stubborn, and Lawrence sneaks in a few weird ones worth the drive.

As always, a big chunk of this comes from the calendar built by Josh Brewer over at NEKS.show – go bookmark it, search it, live in it. If your band’s show isn’t on here, that’s between you and your Facebook event settings.

Get out, tip your bartenders, buy the shirt instead of the streaming subscription. We’ll see you somewhere in the crowd.

The Pornhuskers and Wayne Pain and the Shit Stains at Hillsiders

The Pornhuskers have been doing this for over two decades now, and they’ve built a reputation the old-fashioned way: masked members hiding behind names like King Punk Rock Salami and Biggie Johnson, surf-garage trash-thrash turned up past the point of good taste, and a live show that’s reportedly gotten dancers, stage blood, and at least one promoter trying to pull the plug mid-set. I am reluctant to prognosticate on what’s going to happen at any Pornhuskers show, but it will be memorable. Throw Wayne Pain and the Shit Stains on the bill and Saturday night at Hillsiders stops being optional.

  • The Zeros – Knuckleheads, Kansas City – 8:30 PM
  • The Cowardly Lions – The Ship, Kansas City – 9:00 PM
  • Kansas City Party vs Regular Dress: JS (LA), Stink E. Cur, Ryan – The Ship, Kansas City – 9:00 PM
  • GRVNDPA // DJ Set // Every Second Saturday – Replay Lounge, Lawrence – 10:00 PM
  • Gash // Baby // Virga // Blanky – Replay Lounge, Lawrence – 10:00 PM
  • Rock Into Remission Together – A Benefit for Kalvin Lynch – Wabaunsee County Fair Grounds, Alma – 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM

A late add to the list, and a good one. Punk.Snot.Dead. is throwing a benefit show out at the Wabaunsee County Fair Grounds in Alma for Kalvin Lynch – live music, fresh food, and a good excuse to show up and support a member of the scene who needs it. Schwem and Nomads From The Void are confirmed, Kalvin Lynch himself is on the bill, and more acts are still being added. Free entry, donations welcomed, shaved ice from Royal Ice on site. Address is E 9th St, Alma, KS 66401. Not a bad way to spend a Saturday afternoon before heading into the rest of the weekend.

  • WILL RAP FOR FOOD – Two Wolves Studio & Artist Den, Topeka – 9:00 PM

On our radar: next week’s Northeast Kansas Weekend Concert Roundup

Ded – The Anti-Everything Tour – The Bottleneck, Lawrence – Doors 6:00 PM / Show 7:00 PM

Ded - The Anti-Everything Tour at The Bottleneck

It’s a Wednesday, but this one’s worth clearing the calendar for. Ded built their name on the 2017 breakout single “Anti-Everything,” the title track off their debut Mis-An-Thrope, and they’ve spent the years since sharing stages with Korn and P.O.D. while sharpening a sound that splits the difference between guttural nu-metal riffing and choruses big enough to actually get stuck in your head. They’re out supporting Resent, their third full-length, and this tour is named after the song that started it all. Fellow Arizona road dogs Dropout Kings join the bill – they’ve toured with Ded before and know how to keep the energy up – alongside Brooklyn’s VRSTY, a self-described “heavy pop” outfit that brings some genuine hooks into the mix. Local support comes from Diabolical Orange Monkey, a Kansas rock and metal outfit that’s been steadily building a following since forming during the pandemic, and Mad Existence rounds out the bill. All ages, advance tickets $20, day of show $25.

🎸 Keep The Roundup Running 🎸

Every week I dig through Facebook events, venue pages, and the NEKS.show feed by hand to build this calendar, because somebody in Northeast Kansas has to know what’s actually happening on a Friday night besides doomscrolling. No algorithm, no press release, just a guy tracking down show times so you don’t have to.

Your support keeps the roundup free for every band and every fan, funds the flyers and the write-ups, keeps the lights on at the Dystopeka compound, feeds Larry & Chewy, and props up the increasingly haunted van that gets me to half these shows in the first place. Honestly, it’s a lot more fun for me when you chip in – I get to keep doing this instead of getting a real job.

⚠ WARNING: Excessive support may result in more weekend roundups, more flyers like the ones above, deeper dives into bands nobody’s covering, and a noticeable decrease in Bob’s willingness to shut up about local music.

That’s this week’s Northeast Kansas Weekend Concert Roundup – see you out there.

Northeast Kansas Weekend Concert Roundup – July 10-12, 2026.

End notes: So how do you like this weeks Northeast Kansas Weekend Concert Roundup? I am taking a slightly different direction and mode in how I create the calendar. I found myself growing frustrated with certain things, and realities over the last few weeks. So I took on the “Accept the things I cannot change, and Change the things I can”. Whether or not I have any wisdom to know the difference remains to be seen. I still feel like I need to write a “Promote your band and gig 101” article, or series of articles. It seems that things that I take for granted and “Duh, everyone knows THAT” are not really very well known. I was thinking that maybe I had just lost the plot and was not hip to the tech-savvy ways of the youth. Nope, thats not the case really, though I am still mystified on how and why anyone would make a flyer put up on Instagram by the whole of the promotion campaign. I’m not really looking for sympathy or pats on the back, But putting this Northeast Kansas Weekend Concert Roundup together, and then getting out into your faces every week take a lot of -UN-PAID- work. (Hint hint) Also, Josh Brewer is no slouch in all of his work getting the www.neks.show calendar working (And thats where I draw a lot of my info for this calendar) If you want your band, or your gig listed in these Northeast Kansas Weekend Concert Roundup, one of the best ways is to make a facebook event page/invite for it, and/or send us the info (Address on WWW.NEKS.SHOW site or dystopeka@gmail.com ) and we will do what we can to get your event into the Northeast Kansas Weekend Concert Roundup.
