It would be quite alarming to see someone running through a neighborhood with a rifle (Even obviously wrapped in a towel). It is not inconceivable that the rifle was planted in the woods beforehand as a means to misdirect or distract from the actual shooters identity or escape route.

👤 Suspects Detained and Released

🎥 Visual Evidence: The Gun That Wasn’t There?

Surveillance footage and social media videos captured a figure dressed in black lying on the roof of a building across from the rally. The individual is seen jumping down and fleeing into the woods—but crucially, no weapon is visible in the footage.

The Alleged shooter is not seen actually carying a rifle. It is highly doubtful that such a rifle could be broken down and fit into that backpack, much less as quickly as the shooter allegedly did that.

Authorities have acknowledged this discrepancy, noting that the rifle was likely concealed or discarded before the suspect entered public view. A palm print and shoe impression were found near the rifle, and forensic analysis is ongoing.

The Rifle That The FBI Alleges Was Found In The Woods: Note NOT broken down

The rifle used to kill Charlie Kirk was an older-model Mauser .30-06 bolt-action hunting rifle. It was not broken down when found—recovered intact, wrapped in a towel, with one spent cartridge in the chamber. Though technically disassemblable, it was left fully assembled, suggesting a rapid escape.

And the shooter may well have concealed his identity: They havnt identified him yet and could have been wearing a life mask.)
