Kayfabe is a term used in professional wrestling to describe the idea that wrestling events, stories, and characters are genuine, even though they are actually staged:

Kayfabe is a tacit agreement between wrestlers and their fans to pretend that wrestling is real. It’s a code word used by wrestlers and others in the wrestling industry to discuss matters in public without revealing that the wrestling is scripted.
Think about that. Then think about Donald Trump and his whole ‘aura’ his whole ‘reputation’, his whole being, especially in the eyes of his MAGA followers.
But especially in the way that FOX news, OAN, Rupert Murdoch Sinclair broadcasting etc etc all show such fealty to him.
But its not just fealty to Trump, its fealty to the Kayfabe, to the image and brand and ‘promises’ of Trump.
Individually most people know trump is full of shit. They know he is a flawed person, very flawed. They know that he isnt just a 34X convicted felon just because he got convicted of felonies, they KNOW he is a felon, but thats not part of the Kayfabe, the understanding of who and what he is by those who support him.
Thats why it just doesnt matter that he has been found civilly liable for rape, and had to pay 80 million on top of that to the woman he slandered. To those in on that Kayfabe agreement, spoken or unspoken, it just doesnt matter because every accusation, every conviction, every indictment is just part of this kayfabe that “Everyone is out to get trump, because he is successful” or a “Danger” to the evil-doers of the world. And those evil doers are anyone who is against trump.
Like so many pro wrestling fans, they like the “Under dog”. And trumps plays them by playing the victim of giant far fetched conspiracies to oppress him and “Keep him down”, and somehow those in on the Kayfabe will just never notice that Trump has gotten EVERY break, EVERY benefit of the doubt, EVERY assumption of innocence even after being found guilty. He is the biggest victim on the planet. (Yet they claim that “Liberals are the biggest crybaby victims on the planet”.
Part of the Kayfabe started when trump said “I could stand in 5th ave and I could ‘shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose voters‘, and THAT set the tone and the script of the Kayfabe. He gave the script prompt that “No matter what foul nasty thing, including murder that I do, you will still support me”.
And the media, even the left-leaning and liberal media have played into this.
It just doesnt matter, because the Kayfabe serves so many masters; Its serves the identities of millions of people who buy into this weird idea that “Trump is going to make us all billionaires”. That their ideas of a “Rugged” and “Patriotic” and *WHITE* are all correct, as long as no one disagrees. It serves the billionaires, especially ones like Elon Musk who have a whole lot to gain by a trump presidency (And a whole lot to lose if he doesnt win.)
People relate to the idea that “Theyve been robbed”, and therefore trump “Being robbed” of the election is THEM being robbed. Because trump has convinced them that THEY are victims too, and that various boogy-men from Mexican immigrants to Trans kids to Haitian and onward have ALSO “robbed” them.
This entire campaign is a master class in psychological manipulation, in brain washing, in cult programming, in skillful propaganda, in creating this Kayfabe that has roughly 50% of our country bamboozled and hoodwinked, conned and beguiled, pie-eyed true believers that cant point to a single rational, provable, factual thing that supports their ideas and beliefs about Trump. Whether its his business acumen, or his moral cleanliness, his foreign policy strategies, or even his ability to complete a rational sentence, his followers cannot point out or show any shred of proof or evidence of any of those things, but they have been taught the classic cult-reaction of pivoting to a few tried and true issues: The borders and xenophobic paranoia about brown people, Their subjective experiences of paying soo much for groceries, and pivoting from that to “Kamala’s Cackle” if someone points out that grocery prices have been artificially jacked up by the CEOs of kroger (A fact: They testified to that in front of the FCC) they have been taught, by watching trump on FOX News to pivot from one subject to another rather than ever actually facing, or challenging any of the actual provable facts.
And in this, the Kayfabe holds.
Anyone else not in on that agreement, that unspoken subliminal contract, that Kayfabe can see right through it, and is astounded by it. Almost gobb-smacked into bewilderment like being whacked upside the head with a stunning blow from the dodge-ball “How can anyone be this fucking stupid?”.
Well its not because Trump himself is any kind of genius. He is just the luckiest felon on the planet. He really is too stupid to have thought this up or engineered it. But he was the perfect puppet, in a perfect storm, started by Hollywood needing a game show host for their Reality TV show “The Apprentice“, and Trump was a broke down Millionair who had enough of a name to fill the requirements for the show. And they built him up bigger than life with all of the typical Hollywood Magic. But others had their hands on Trumps puppet string: His old buddies in the Russian Mob. Trump was very much beholden to THEM going back into the 80s when he was a bag-man for them, and working with them was the only way to get concrete poured for his buildings when no other real estate developer in town could. (Yes, you can go find the references and evidence for this). And the Russian Mob had poured millions of dollars into Trump. His jackass son Donald Jr practically BRAGGED after asked what the family does now that no bank in the USA will load them money: Eric Trump said “No problem! We get all of our money from the Russians!“. Yes, he said that outloud to the media.
But the biggest Russian mobster and oligarch of them all, a man with a bone to pick with the USA: Vladimir Putin had special plans for Trump, and he had some of the best propagandists and agitprop newspeak *evangelicals* in the world to help him cast a spell over Trump, and the USA. And he started doing that well ahead of the 2016 election.
This is all verifiable. None of this information comes from weird conspiracy theory websites. The fact that Trump ignored, and refused to listen to our OWN intel agencies, and instead deferred to Putin’s whispers in his ears.
But does this matter to the MAGA crowd? Nope. And they’ve been told plenty, but it is much more comfortable for them to just bray the party line and circle the wagons and chant “Make America Great Again!” The comforting mantra. Every cult has one, or two. It supports and reinforces the Kayfabe.
Will anything make the true believers break the Kayfabe?
Just think; if some WELL Meaning and altruist religion had managed to pull this off? Think of the world THAT would have created.
Instead of one that serves to keep a decrepit old pants-shitting rapist felon out of prison, and give fiat to the worst of the worst of the worlds greed….and the rest of the four horsemen of the apocalypse’s?
